Description
I played this set for my Burners Without Borders family during Burning Man 2026. It brings together some of the tracks I played at the BWB Solstice Summit in June, and throughout my playa sets at AMMA, the Food Link-Up on Saturday sunrise and the Serpent Queen art car. The closing of the set features part of a conversation recorded before the Solstice Summit, when BWB lead and dear friend Christopher Breedlove interviewed Jerry James. In 1986, Jerry built the first Man burned on Baker Beach alongside Burning Man founder Larry Harvey. Sharing his voice here, as Burning Man culture marks its 40th anniversary, makes this set especially meaningful. I first used these samples for the set I played during the Burn of the effigy (see image) at Fly Ranch commemorating the 40th anniversary of Burning the Man. Musically, it moves slowly and deliberately between 105 and 109 BPM, creating space for the textures of house and deep house to unfold into an immersive and profound journey. This set is dedicated to the spirit of Burning Man, its culture, and the role playa stages play for the evolution of electronic music.
