Through a sleepless tantrum of being lost in a place inside myself of wonder, mystery, and adrenaline; that was my state of mind a month before I realized I was actually going (last minute as always), as all my other priorities quickly seemed to dissolve and I focused purely on this set of music as a gift for my first burning man… performing this set which came together so suddenly and fluidly (rarely happens like that with me and took me back to more naive studio days) live with Robot Heart during the burning of the man shook me to the core with liberating inspiration and was such a unique and uplifting experience it feels like I almost betray the memory each time I try to explain it rashly. There really is nothing else in the world like the collective work ethic, art and communal push forward in Black Rock City during burning man. The coming together of people from all walks of life making art for the sake of art and sharing their crafts and visions openly empowering the strange and the fantastic into the norm and the very real. A phenomenon and celebration of human creativity and science throughout the extremities of nature and conservationism. None of these experiences or music would have come to fruition were it not for the patience and guidance of my close friends Gunita, Nikita, and Benjamin. Also, the accompanying musicians and my brothers who performed with me and took the music to the next level including the all mighty Tomas Barfod on drums and Jeppe Kjellberg on electric slide of WhoMadeWho and the very talented Alexey Etcheverry on violin. Thank you to the entire Robot Heart crew for the mindblowing creative force they’ve put together in the desert and for inviting me to perform at such a remarkable, liberating and otherworldly moment during the Burn.
