Cptain jay words: This is my closing set of the Dune Stage, Playground, Burning Man 2019! It was such an incredible honor to play there, especially closing down the stage, and I think you can here a little Playa Magic in the set. Looking back, one of the most interesting facets of Burning Man is how the perception of scale is so uniquely different. Things once massive get dwarfed by the endless expanse of desert. Then somehow, at the same time, little intimate experiences can carry an incredible amount of weight and meaning. It’s kind of unbelievable. This is all to say, I was playing on the “smaller” Dune Stage at Playground, but the experience was larger than life!! It was the end of a long week, we were surrounded by friends and family and Burners who had been working their asses off, and we all just kind of blissed-out in this collective dream of a set. AND THEN the sun started setting; we were surrounded by reds, and oranges, and purples, and the moment pulled alllllll these all-time favorite tracks out of me! I’ve never played so many classics in a single set. So, relive the moment with me! It’s a little slice of Burning Man Magic.
